Sony TPS-L2 Walkman – Rare "Guys & Dolls" Edition, Excellent Condition

This particular unit belongs to an especially scarce first-run variant: the "Guys & Dolls" TPS-L2. Instead of the "A" and "B" jack labels found on nearly every other unit, this model's dual headphone ports are stamped "Guys" and "Dolls" — Sony's original label for the feature that let two people share one tape from two sets of headphones. The labeling appeared only on early production from 1979, before Sony switched to the simpler "A/B" markings used on every later TPS-L2. This unit, serial 48322, is numbered above the often-quoted 30,000 "cutoff," which is consistent with what we've documented: genuine Guys & Dolls units run at least into the 50,000s. Finding one today with this branding intact is rare even by first-generation Walkman standards.
